DIDU and DSA Help Theory Test Candidate

Sometimes candidate's requirements don't fit the boxes of the application. DIDU Chairman Barry Kenward writes:

"A colleague has communicated with me last Friday about a pupil with SN who needs extra time for a theory test later this month. The pupil's mother telephoned PEARSONVUE and had difficulties communicating with them.
Our colleague obtained a letter from the pupil's mother giving permission to act on their behalf and I wrote to RT within 24 hours of receiving the initial enquiry, providing all the necessary information required to trace the theory test. TODAY I have had a response from Colin MADDOCK as below with what can only be (for the pupil, Mother and our colleague) the greatest result ever.
I will leave it to you all to decide what you think. All I will say is that belonging to a National Association does have its benefits.
Regards, Barry"

The reply from Colin Maddock - DSA Head of Corporate Correspondence

"Rosemary asked me to deal with this on her behalf. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused to Miss XXXXXXX. To prevent people from asking for extra time they don’t need, it’s usual practice to ask for proof that the candidate does actually need extra time. I can appreciate that would have been difficult for Miss XXXXXX to get confirmation from her college during the summer break.
Unfortunately, we couldn’t simply add more time to Miss XXXXXXX existing booking, so we cancelled it and re-booked it with an hour’s extra time and a voiceover on the same day, 22 August, but at 1pm. I hope these arrangements will suit; if they don’t, please ask Miss XXXXXXXXX to call 0300 200 XXXX.
Yours, Colin Maddock"
